The Secret to Success



Most people do not know where to start when it comes to reaching their health and fitness goals. My recommendation is simple, free and powerful. The place that it all began for me was with the breath. Learning to breathe deeply and fully relaxed me, but also prepared me for the next set and for the next obstacle to overcome. The breath was there through the birth of my child, my divorce, my seven competitions in six months, my fatigue...you name it! The breath was my friend and not to add my medicine.


As many know, stress is what causes most, if not all illness! Stress is what causes injuries while training, stress is what causes you to emotionally loose control. It is no wonder the breath is a simple yet powerful tool inside of us that can cure disease, calm emotions and relieve the body of pain.

We are an anxious society. We try to juggle so much to keep up with "the jones" so to speak. We are hard on ourselves, always working towards perfection and if we fall short at all, we perceive it as failure. The breath can give you perspective, give you moments of clarity. In these quiet moments of breathing, the truth comes in, reality is seen, illusion erased and we are recharged like the battery in our cars. As a result, we feel inspired, reignited and reawakened to charge ahead. Just as we awake feeling rested after a deep sleep. We can take those moments while awake, simply to close our eyes, relax, unwind and escape in any setting and enjoy the ride in the center of our being, as we listen to the ebb and flow of the tide within us.

With the breath, even the mind slows down so we can focus on the task at hand. During intensive training in a class, or with weights in our hand, we can use those breaths to go into the "zone"!

The Zone is that place where we are one with our body & mind and nothing else matters but what we are doing in that moment. There is nothing distracting us. It's like a good love affair. So learn to trust the breath and use it like a drug to cure addiction, relieve a panic attack, to achieve ecstasy, to reach your physical goals, to stay healthy and most importantly to choose what you are thinking!

Allow the breath to bring you to a point of peaceful thoughts that encourage you to be your personal best and erase the toxic thoughts that stop you from reaching your goals. So remember when you feel like you are going to give up or you aren't sure what direction to go next, just stop take a few breaths and see what happens by using my secret to success.
